Back to topSnow Removal
The
Bicycle/Pedestrian Committee with the city of Portland, developed a snow removal ordinance for city sidewalks. This ordinance requires property owners to keep sidewalks clear of snow and ice by requiring such action within 24 hours after a storm. The city also offers free sand and salt mixtures to residents during the winter month to help them with their snow clearing efforts. With the length of winters in Maine, we all need to do whatever we can to help our communities stay active. This ordinance is one way to help.
